I will always remember covering this wedding. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to write this blog post, and how to explain that I had such a frikking blast!  For those who read my blog regularly, I do say that often...but this wedding however...was SO awesome!  The bride...Tahira...my goodness....she was so beautiful!  Sam...your a lucky dude.

I have covered so many American weddings, and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of something different.  It intrigues me on how their culture carries out weddings. Although their wedding wasn't completely to tradition, they kind of mixed themes together making it their very own.  East meets West...a Bollywood style wedding...complete with the reception in the historic and beautiful Majestic Metro.  Tahira and Sam are big into movies, and it was only appropriate that their reception be held there.

After it was all said and done...after nearly two days and 15 hours of coverage...I...am...exhausted.  I am glad to be exhausted though...because the experience was completely worth it. I have so many favorite photos to share, so be warned...THIS POST IS VERY PHOTO HEAVY!

It started on Friday night with Mehndi, and was held at the Golden Samovar here in Houston, TX. At the Mehndi, Henna is applied to the hands and feet of the Bride.  This Indian/Muslim/Pakistani tradition dates back to ancient India, and usually occurs on special occasions such as weddings.  Tahira's Henna took over 3 hours! It was so intricute, and so beautiful when it was finished! Ok...so onward we go!

The grand entrance.

The bridesmaids had special dance to perform.  Their culture's music...oh...my...god....SO awesome! So upbeat and vibrant...truly unique!

The day after was the actual wedding ceremony and reception.  I met up with Tahira at Aeiysha's Salon to catch the final touches of hair and make up.  They did such a beatiful job (although Tahira doesn't need make up for that ;)!

The boys and Sam, the groom.

The actual wedding ceremony was held at Rice University where Tahira graduated from.

Sam's reaction...priceless.

There's an exact position for the bride's hands to be in...every last detail was amazing.

After the ceremony and all those formal fun photos ;), I met up with Tahira again in the evening as she got ready for the reception at the Magestic. Her room in the Icon Hotel was magnificent!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this shot!

The details...again...gorgeous!

Taking advantage of my time at the Icon.

This timing of this wedding was a photographer's dream.  With a little tweaking...we had so much time to play before their grand entrance at 8:30.  Main Street...Downtown Houston.

The bathtub in Tahira's room...awesome.

The Grand entrance.

Tahira's Dad.

The shot above is so funny...in defense of Tahira...those sparklers we're the real McCoy...and frikking blazing hot!

Tahira and Sam, thank you SO much for letting me be a part of your wedding! This is definitely one that I will always remember!

Yesterday I headed out to the beautiful Oakwind Bed and Breakfast for Brandi and Schaun's wedding.  Judging from how the engagement session went a few weeks back, I knew that I was in for a real treat with the wedding.  Boy was I mistaken!  It was more than a treat...it was a dessert that I just couldn't get enough of!  There we're so many things going on at once....more than the typical wedding.  Mostly the reception...these guys we're crazy!  Crazy in a good way though....I've never laughed so hard at a wedding before.

Looking past the butt pinching, piggy-back riding, and slurred southern accents, Brandi and Schaun's wedding was nothing less than perfect.  These guys made me feel welcome, made me feel at home, and made me feel like I was more than just "the photographer"...and that.....is priceless.
