MEMORY LANE
November 20th, 2008

I'm not a city boy, nor a country boy.  I'm a chameleon that can adapt to virtually any enviroment.  It was almost 6 years ago that I boarded a Greyhound bus, with a one way ticket to change. I had been with someone about 12 years older than me at the time, with kids that we're only 5 years younger than me.  After the realtionship turned sour, I knew I needed a big change in my life.  So, what's a 22 year old with no job and little money do? Pack 5 days of clothes in an army bag, and board a bus to FL with enough cash to stay for 1 week in a motel. Just start over somewhere new.  Besides....the beaches are niiiiice!

24 hours that bus ride lasted, and in that short amount of time I realized just how beautiful life really was.  I met some fantastic people, shared some fantastic stories, and was completely ready to face whatever obstacle came my way when I got to Tampa. You see, when your sitting in your chair at home in front of the computer, it's easy to visualize starting over in a new city.  However, when I stepped foot of the bus in the pouring rain, with nowhere to go....reality hit.  I don't know a single person for 1000 miles, and now it's up to me to survive.  Lest to say, I grew up real quick.  I was brought up believing that you could do anything, and you can.  Anything is possible...time is irrelevant.

Fast foward 5 years, and I am happily married with a beautiful 13 month old boy. I've accomplished so much in 5 years, and I completely grateful for so many people that have helped me along the way.  I consider these people my guardian angels, as they have acted as bumpers on my bowling alley, always guiding me in the right direction.

Now the tables have turned, and ironcially enough I'm moving back.  Well, we're moving back.  I have a family now...souveneirs from FL!  It's a little sad to know that my time here in Florida is complete, but I am so excited to finally be close to my parents, brother, and niece again.  Max is going to have such a great time growing up in little ol' Santa Fe!  I am SO excited for Timpa to finally see Max!

T-Minus 4 days and counting!

We're coming home Texas! We're coming home!
