MATZKE FAMILY LIFE SESSION
November 21st, 2008

I LOVE shooting Life Sessions!

There are several reasons why I apply a documentary approach to family portraits pictures.  One of those reasons is the ability to just be free.  During Life Sessions, I'm the witness.  To my clients, I am a ghost.   When that camera comes up, my entire world changes.  Everything is blocked out.  I don't hear anything.  All I see is 2 things...the light...and my subjects.  I become part of time, thus becoming part of the moment.  Having this sort of connection is....creepy...yes...but it allows me to detach myself from reality...just for long enough to produce what I see.

Last night, what I saw was such a genuine family.  Their hearts are big, their personalities shine, and little George....well...little George is the Sun that shines brightly in this family's universe.  Even though it was a tad bit cold, the warmth coming from this family was enough to keep everyone on the beach warm.

This is the Matzke Family's Life, the way I see it.

More flying babies!  I have nothing to do with this.  I think either; all parents do this, or they see it on my blog.

John, and George :)

Run George!

They're going down!

So cute!!

Dude...that would be SO cool if like...we we're thrown around.  You know....you could have like a big....15 foot high...fake parent that you could get in the seat....and the fake parent would throw you up in the air....that would be sweet!

Lacrosse time!

Happy family!

George and George!

Now THATS a family portrait picture!

Thanks for letting me hang out!  See ya'll in April!
