I love watching my son Max walk, explore, and make new discoveries. Although everyone knows what a shadow is, Max has just discovered it. It's fascinating to watch him think, and make decisions. Of course, his decisions amount to the extent of, "hmm...should I go left, or right?" Well actually, he probably doesn't even know what "left," and "right" are at 10 months old. None the less, he doesn't really have much to worry about at that age. Yesterday we went out to the park for our monthly Get-Nick-Off-the-Computer Day. I wanted to drive to this nice park that I had shot at once before. It was like 30 minutes away, but completely worth the drive (and the $50 in gas it costs to get there ;). It's scary driving our Jeep right now because there is a ginormous frikking Wolf Spider in the car somewhere. Brandi was in the drive-through at Icky D's, and she said she fa-reeked out because a ginormous spider crawled into the Jeep and up under the dash! So now we both freak out when we drive the Jeep because that spider the size of a basketball may drop down on our feet while driving. That would be bad, because both of us would wreck if that happened. Too bad there's no "emergency freakout" button on a Jeep that kicks in auto-pilot. That would rock! So anyways, at the park there are alligators everywhere. I was trying to tell Max that alligators eat small children so don't get too close, but he insisted that the alligator was his friend.
After the alligator told Max, "go get Mommy!" he took off running towards her!
Then he tripped...fell...and thought it was funny.
He got right back up because Ally the Alligator was calling Max's name.
Apparently it was Tyler the Tree, and not Ally the Alligator that was calling his name. Well technically, the tree was calling my name. I love when you can see the light.
I kept trying to tell max that the Alligator sunk because he ate too many small children, so he went about his way....
...and kept walking. Kind of surprised us that he walked so far by himself. Then he just stopped, and cried. :( He finally realized we were'nt behind him.
After we burned off our lunch, and breakfast (and probably dinner that night before) the day had come to an end. Well, really mommy and daddy we're/are completely out of shape, so we only lasted for like a frikking hour. I think I will start to run again. Did I ever tell you about that time when...
...maybe another time. |
